IPT san Remo
After a short vacation in Rome and a car drive from Genova it was time for the the beautiful San Remo, Italy.
It was a quite big tournament with very good value and the first price were around $250K. I played Day 1b together with more than 300 players in the Casino di San Remo.
A classic cooler and an early exit!
Played tight the first level of the day on a very loose table, picked up very many small pp’s but didn’t make any sets.
So, 30 min into the second level i picked up KK nice – time to get some chips. With the blinds 75/150, I raised 425 in early position, co called, button called and bb reraised to 2050. I 4-bet to 4525, he 5-bet and committed himself. The hand ranges are wider in live events and you quite often
see strange and bad moves in early stages. This time, though I understood I probably was looking into two or three hands. This Italian qualifier showed several signs of not being to experienced, like taking photos all the time and I thought he wouldn’t risk the tournament with a too fancy move this early.
It felt more like aces than queens and could also be AK. I obviously wasn’t going to fold kings pf but had a real bad feeling when I went all in. He snapped with his AA and no help for me…out!
Poker could be cruel but that’s part of the game.
I stay here another three days with my bf, enjoying some nice food and wine, playing cash and of course see you online!
