4th place again in Spring Poker week Main event
Out in 4th for $8.000. I feel disappointed with the way the final table developed since I felt I was really on my way to the much nicer $27.000 price and the first place. I guess you’re not really happy until you win it all…
It was a little tricky FT to navigate as the average stack was only around 20BB’s, with very little room for post flop play. Three players were below 15BB’s when we started Day 3 and with only 26 bb’s I was in second place. I had a very good start winning the three first pots and then kept my aggressiveness building my stack up to 820K quickly closing in on the chip leader. As he was the worst player on the FT it was a dream scenario to face him HU. Two short stacks busted in the first level but unfortunately not to me. Instead the remaining shorty doubled. I was card dry but kept trying to raise and steal. I lost an important 500k pot when Kowssarie bluffed my bluff and I had to fold after a war blind vs blind. After that, still not hitting any cards, they started to shove on me and I had nothing to strike back with so I was suddenly short with 13BB’s. In the end I went all in with A6 and was tank called by the chip leader with 55. It was a flip to win a 900K pot and get back in second place but no help so I busted in fourth place also this year.
I feel that my transition from full ring to 6max the last year has improved my game in tournaments. I’m mixing it up more and put much more pressure on my opponents. Overall I feel that I played well in this tournament. It was meant to be a warm up to the much bigger tournaments coming soon. I rather save the “One Time” for a bigger FT, maybe WSOP this summer, or why not for IPT San Remo starting in two days!
Thanks to you all for the great support, I really appreciate it!
