A week in my life – Thursday
Woke up 2pm and had some food at home. Pancakes, just love it. I surfed online for an hour and started to read one of my billion poker books which I never find time to finish. I had just received two new books, ‘Caro’s book of poker tells’ (available in the PKR shop) and ‘The Mathematics of Poker’ by Bill Chen and Jerrod Ankerman, two recommended books to read.
After 18 pages I wanted to close my eyes and turned on some good music instead. Another failed attempt, /lol. I went to the gym for some running, with the Swedish House Mafia on the loudspeakers. Music like theirs makes exercising easy. Went home and cooked one of my specialties, home-made lasagne, delicious with red wine. Bon appétit. I invited my parents and brother, Fredrik. They like my lasagne so it’s a solid way to earn popularity point
Today I also worked on one of my targets for the year – to earn my driver’s licence – and practiced with my dad for two hours. Check out my new car btw, I love the design. Sales guy kept talking about 600nm – is that good? Now I really need to spend more time practicing!
I just renewed my Team PKR Pro contract with PKR. This was recognized by the online magazine Pokerlistings and that, together with my blogging for Aftonbladet (a Swedish newspaper), put me in second place for this week’s ‘All Inne-listan’ LOL!
In the evening, dealt with emails and regged for the first tournament of my new contract period, the €3,500 buy–in Irish Poker Open Main Event, 22-25 April. I’m really looking forward to going deep again this year. Hopefully I can win it for the 50 players with a share of me! Who knows, I might even get a seat on the feature table with Mr Channing…
I also regged for the Spring Poker Week Main Event, a smaller event in my home town of Gotherburg, 28-30 April, with a 5500 SEK ($900) buy-in. I’ll try to better my result from last year when I finished in fourth place (for $10,968). It took some time to do this and to book flights and hotel, and I had a smile on my face remembering the good feeling 12 months ago when I played my first live tourneys. When all this administration was finished I felt unbeatable when I hit the tables for the online grind with a long and profitable night in front of me. Thanks to my good mood, I’d booked a profit of $660 when I went to bed at 5am.
